13.09.2007 at 18:30 PM Husum: The real Marie and her daughter Martina, along with a further 80 people were eagerly waiting for the rose-painted plane. They couldn't wait to see the two blokes from Immenstadt land.
The skies were overcast and the sun was still hiding behind the clouds. Unbelievably it suddenly emerged from the clouds and at the same time the rose-painted plane appeared on the horizon too. The von Dammann family had an ingenious idea and distributed the flags of all 30 countries flown over to the guests. To the left and right of the runway, everyone waiting formed a guard of honour and welcomed Uwe Thomas and Hans Christian to great applause.
After the press and media had claimed the two pilots' attention for quite a while, they chatted away and celebrated. Mayor Rainer Maass brought along the witty Hans Ahrenstorf from the 'Mien Modersprak' foundation with him, who in his amusing welcoming speech thanked the two pilots 'for speaking the Plattdeutsch dialect in the cockpit'!
The two pilots said they would be happy to give a talk to the foundation about their flying adventures.
